Autism Brothers Books π: Stop and Rest - Donβt Quit
Creativity and Recovering From Illness
π¨ Welcome
Everything came to a complete stop recently.
Twice this happened. I was so sick. Who knows what I had, but it kept me in bed or on the sofaβ¦and that was hard. I didnβt rest soon enough and landed myself in the emergency room, basically unable to even sit up on my own. I need to stop and rest sooner next time. I need to remember the important advice:
Stop and Rest. Donβt Quit.
Especially with my creative work (and especially in all other areas of my life, actually) I try to push through. But as Iβm learning, sometimes itβs okay to stop and rest.
And sometimesβ¦it is also okay to quit. If quitting something you are working on - a project, a painting, a sculpture, a book - if quitting that is the best thing for you and your quality of life, then quitting is good. Quitting can sometimes be the most courageous choice.
Iβm not quitting my Cappadocia book. Iβm just stopping to rest a bit. As soon as I recover from being sick, Iβll be back at itβ¦painting away and so grateful to finally be able to do so.
If you need to stop and rest from your creative project, do so. If you need to quit your current project, do so. Find another way to keep on expressing your truth. Keep being yourself. Keep going with these important things.
Good journey,

A cool video of the Turkish bazaar page.

πΈ The Details - Rainbow / Backpack Page
Details from the rainbow / backpack page. This 2 page layout shows the backpack we always carry with us containing Charlie Ozanβs iPad. He uses it to communicate in different ways and also as a form of security.
You can see Archie leading Charlie by offering his hand. Charlie doesnβt like to hold hands the traditional way, but rather gently places his hand behind yours. I tried to show this in the painting. Itβs made from an actual photo of the boys holding hands this way.
