The southern California fires have lessened, and today, we have light rain, which is good for us. Too much rain can cause landslides, but just enough reduces the threat of further fires if the Santa Ana winds return.
We are a cat family with three cats now. My daughter calls her two her comfort cats and the other is a stray we took in a 5 months ago. She's slowly becoming more comfortable with us, but not with the other two cats.
The anxiety of the month has caused me to work slower on my projects and have more downtime than usual. I'm currently in the querying stages of my third YA novel.
A winter illness has set in. The boys and I are all a bit sick this week. Just trying to keep my head above water, to be honest.
What are you working on?
My creative priority was to continue documenting the process of making my new children's book. I'm excited about the story - it's about my mom.

We recently got two therapy cats. They are the sweetest kittens. Seeing my sons take such good care of their cats...and being so kind and gentle with the kittens... has been an uplifting experience.
