Reaching Out: Day 3 “Emily Lupita Explores - Creativity Journal”
A One Week Project Where I Reach Out To You - My Readers
🎨 Welcome
About my “Reaching Out” Project:
I’ve taken a week-long break from social media (Instagram & Facebook). I’d like to write here every day this week instead - and share 7 ideas (1 per day) for what I’m considering / sketching out / mapping for my next creative project.
The very act of sharing our art and creative ideas is so full of hope and vulnerability and courage…I could use an extra dose of those things right now.
I’d love to know your ideas - about my ideas - for future creative projects. Read more about the project:
Thank you for being here to read / respond - whatever feels best to you. From one creative spirit to another - I’m sending love to you. Keep going. 🌿
Good journey,
~Emily Lupita
Idea #3: Emily Lupita Explores - Creativity Journal
A Guided Journal for Creative Reflection
A series of paintings from my new “Explores” series - Lupita traveling
Each painting also has a black & white sketch version to color (adult coloring books / coloring for stress relief / coloring accesses the creative brain)
Each painting has a short essay (1 pg) about the place (guidebook / sacred places / travel writing / place-based writing) based on a theme.
Followed by a prompt for creative journaling on that theme.
Followed by 2 pages of space to get started writing.
Right now I’m working on Turkiye - I’ve finished the Hagia Sophia, Hürrem Sultan Hamami Turkish bath (both above) and the Medusa Basilica Cistern (below) - all in Istanbul.
I’m working on the mausoleum of Atatürk in Ankara right now, called Anıtkabir. (The last photo with the giant stone relief carving and tiny Lupita.)
I love making these. It fills me with joy. It helps me embrace my new home in a stronger way. It’s fun to show my Turkish friends.
I think this guided journal would be useful / helpful to other creatives, especially those starting out on a new creative journey like I am now.
There are so many possibilities - next could be Mexico.
It’s a way for me to document my most beloved travel memories and share them with others.
I haven’t seen anything quite like this out there. I think it’s unique in the space.
I’d love to hear your ideas. Please share your thoughts with me in the comments.
